
The Luma Story
What started as curiosity has grown into a commitment to exceptional coffee and the people who share it.
Luma Coffee Roasters began in 2015 with four best friends gathered around a stovetop, roasting green coffee beans in a Whirly Pop popcorn maker just to see what was possible.
What started as curiosity quickly became conviction. The coffee coming off that stove was
more vibrant and expressive than much of what they had been drinking for years —
a glimpse into what specialty coffee could truly be when handled with care.
Inspired to go further, the two couples invested in professional roasting equipment and
immersed themselves in specialty coffee education. Devin earned a Professional Level Coffee Skills
Diploma from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), and Logan completed multiple professional credits, including barista certification. What began in a kitchen evolved into a disciplined craft.
In the fall of 2020, that craft became a brick-and-mortar reality in Hammond.
Today, Luma roasts coffee in-house, serving guests locally and partnering with
businesses who share a passion for quality and community.
From a popcorn maker to a professional roastery, our mission remains the same — to serve exceptional products and build relationships that last.
